We are proud to present our poultry breeds for the 2020 - 2021 breeding season
We will be offering fertile eggs and day old unsexed chicks from all of our breeds. You will need to check on availability. The season will hopefully kick off around September once we have fertility tested each of our breeds.

Blue copper marans originate from the port of Marans in France and are considered rare in Australia.
Breed purpose – Dual purpose 150 to 200 eggs per year
Marans hens are large sized, lay a large dark brown egg and seldom go broody.
Marans are a docile breed that love to free range but are also perfect for the backyard.

Black copper marans originate from the port of Marans in France and are considered rare in Australia.
Breed purpose – Dual purpose 150 to 200 eggs per year

Barnevelders originate from a town called Barneveld in Holland
Breed purpose – Dual purpose 180 to 200 eggs per year.
Barnevelder hens are large sized, lay a medium size brown egg and occasionally go broody.
Barnevelders are friendly, docile breed, poor flyers and perfect for the backyard. They are also known for laying through the winter months.

Brown leghorns originate from Tuscany in Italy and are considered rare.
Breed purpose – eggs 280+per year
Leghorn hens are medium sized, lay a large white egg and seldom go broody.
Leghorns are an active breed, can be flighty and love to forage.

Silver campines originate from Beligium and are considered rare.
Breed purpose – eggs, ornamental
Campine hens are medium sized, lay a large white egg and seldom go broody.
They are a hardy breed, active with an inquisitive nature.

Red anconas originate from Ancona in Italy and are considered rare.
Breed purpose – Eggs 250+per year
Ancona hens are medium sized, lay a large white egg and seldom go broody.
They are an inquisitive breed that love to chat. They are active and love to forage.

My easter egger pen is a mixed bunch of colored egg layers.
Breed purpose – layers 200 plus per year
My easter egger pen consists of 2 cream legbar hens, 1 arraucana hen and 3 easter eggers ( arracana x marans). All are crossed back to marans roosters so resulting chics will lay a range of colored eggs from blue, green, olive green and brown.

Polish origins are unknown but it said they originate from Poland.
Breed purpose – ornamental 200 eggs per year.
Polish hens are small, lay a mid sized off white egg and seldom go broody.
They are quirky and full of character. They make great childrens pets and are perfect for the small backyard.
This pen consists of 1 blue mottle frizzle hen and 1 black mottle hen and a black mottle rooster.

This year we have 2 gorgeous splash laced hens in with our gold laced pen. Please see below.

Pekins are said to originate from China
Breed purpose – ornamental 100 eggs per year
Pekin hens only way up to 1 kg, lay a small tinted colored egg and make great broody hens.
They are perfect for the small backyard and make fantastic childrens pets with there docile but quirky personality.
This pen is my multicolored pen with lots of different colored hens. Black, blue, buff, white and splash to name a few. Chics will turn out 50 50 frizzles or straight feathered as you cant breed frizzle to frizzle.
